Hi RJ,
I know how hard it is to struggle with negative thoughts, I always felt hopeless because of them during my depressive episodes. But things do get better with time. What helped me a lot was David Burns' book Feeling Good, and the strategies of CBT which are described there. It introduces you to dysfunctional thoughts and how to fight against them. CBT requires practice. And do you have a therapist?
I've heard that mindfulness helps a lot too. Whatever works for you, I'm sure you'll find out the right thing with time. Hugs, and hope you feel better soon!

Thanks for this!
