“A large number of Americans suffer from sex addiction and the numbers keep increasing. When a spouse is addicted to sex and refuses to get help, go to rehab, or even admit they have a problem, it can tear a marriage apart. Unfortunately, many that are in the throes of addiction never realize the damage they are causing to those they love.
On the show we will hear from two couples that are trying to rebuild their lives after sex addiction has torn them apart. Each couple is determined to save the relationship and get their marriage back on track...
We’ll meet Michelle, and her husband, John. Michelle felt their 9 years of marriage have been a lie. She just recently came to the realization that John may be a sex addict. He has confessed to having numerous affairs and has been sexually active with prostitutes as well. They hope this will be the first step towards recovery for them both. We’ll also meet Chris and his wife, Angela. Chris was in therapy for over 9 months, but fears his marriage may eventually end. He knows he has hurt his wife deeply because of his addiction. He admitted to having numerous affairs with friends and prostitutes. They are both in counseling, but it’s a day-to-day struggle to keep their marriage on track.
Joining us to help counsel these couples is Dr. Douglas Weiss. He is the founder of The Heart To Heart Counseling Center and the author of The Final Freedom. As a recovering sex addict, Dr. Weiss is intimately aware of the problems this addiction causes in relationships.
