When I first started taking wellbutrin caffeine definitely had an exaggerated effect on me. I felt so clear and open the first couple of hours after having a soda. Then I would get jittery and anxious and later crash. After drinking soda a couple of times and noticing that I got intense death-anxiety so much so I couldn't look at older people, I knew I just couldn't be drinking caffeine. Lol.

Since then I slowly began drinking caffeine again and I believe the intense effect wore off.

At this time this was the only med I was taking. So it was definitely the wellbutrin. I know that caffeine often causes the release of certain neurotransmitters, just like alcohol, and that is why antidepressants can have such an intensifying effect.

I also had the effect of feeling very depersonalized for perhaps a week after starting the wellbutrin. 300mg. I was also recently diagnosed with bipolar 2 and am no longer taking any antidepressants. These effects could have had more to do with not being unipolar depressed.
