I could tell this was just a rant on your part and you have every right to it.

You suppose your friends parents just have more money than your dad? Two of my kids went to college and I didn't pay for any of it. We couldn't. But they both qualified for student loans.

Sometimes I feel guilty because I couldn't help my daughter out much. Just a few dollars here and there when she was really broke. On her good days, though, she told me she appreciated that she had to work to pay for her own education. She could say "I did it by myself!" She now has her Master's Degree... and yes, she did it all by herself. Not all at once, but she made it. I'm so proud of her!! (even if she doesn't talk to me)

I'm sure she's very proud of herself, too! She should be!
