Hi there, I really don't want to seem like a hypochondriac and that this is the most relevant area to post in, but there has been so much going on recently, and I've noticed something over the past few weeks. It didnt bother me at first, but I have noticed a smell, a smell that will not go away for more than 5 minutes. It is there when I wake up I until I fall asleep, and it has gone on for so long, today I thought it was gone but after a couple of hours it came back and hasn't gone at all.

The smell is something I can't identify, I would say it's a little hazy, maybe like a reaction of a chemical giving off a peculiar-smelling gas that is almost addictive but not particularly good to smell. I'm very cleanly, and nobody else smells it at all, I thought maybe it was a nose infection (I googled a lot) but it just doesn't last this long, and I came across something called 'phantosmia' but have only found very little information. The phantosmia is an 'olfactory hallucination' but I don't think you can be aware of hallucinations? This will seem silly but I had a blackout for a minute the other week and fell over and went all dizzy, and I think it happened all around then?

Similar things have happened in the past, which is why I don't think it's an infection, I mean things that people don't believe. I remember being in a hall for a presentation at school once before I finished to start A levels, the hall was quiet but this loud music that was slurred and unfamiliar came on, it was uncomfortable so I covered my ears... Someone asked what I was doing and I said the music was too loud. The music disappeared suddenly after a while, and everyone said there was no music at the presentation, and I have only told a couple of people about this but I saw a person that nobody else saw once too, it was scary because I was in my room and she suddenly appeared and I jumped back on my bed in shock and stared fearfully for what seemed like forever and I looked down because I was scared and she disappeared. Nobody believes that, because my house is secure, but I haven't exactly told many people at all, for a lot of reasons.

I was wondering if anybody knew anything about the smell that won't disappear? And maybe if they have any other ideas on all of these things, I'm really sorry again if this seems silly and unbelievable, I swear it's the truth though
