I guess we could call New Year's Eve (Hogmanay) like a thanksgiving celebration? Maybe other UKer's wouldn't agree.
I know my family is very tradtional at Hogmanay and New Year's Day.... we are typical Scots 
UKer's would be not class our Saint's day's in this??? St Andrew's, St George, St Patrick and St David's day's??? Just a though
