I agree, and the cost of textbooks shouldn't fall on parents of kids in high school and under. Children are entitled to an education; therefore, they are entitled to what they need for that education. Pens, pencils, books, notebooks, markers, etc. I know most public schools can't afford it these days, but I'm just sayin'. Legally, I don't think that should fall on parents.
In college, you can get some books in e-book form, but not all. For any student, it's a health issue if they have to carry heavy textbooks vs. a Kindle or whatever with all their books electronically saved.
