I agree you need a new doctor! If he's not going to treat your mental health, then he should be focusing on your physical health instead of going on and on about what he's not going to treat.
You need to find a new doctor right away since you say this is going on for 3 months. You need to tell the scheduling nurse up front and say you may need an ultrasound. Perhaps if you are able to get in to see a GI specialist without a referal, you should do that.
I had to have my gallbladder out in July. The thing about gallbladder is it feels like a heart attack, (this is a very common belief.) It feels like your chest is being crushed and you can't breath, and is extremely painful. I was having this crushing sensation off an on, trying to figure out if it was a heart attack or a panic attack.... I had gallstones and gallbladder issue, which started in March. My doctor told me I was low on vitamin D and to come back in 3 months. Well, just as I was deciding I needed to get that follow-up appointment made, I ended up having what I thought was a massive heart attack and was taken to the ER by ambulance. I ended up having to stay for 2 weeks in the hospital for gallbladder & gallstone removal, and pancreatitus.
So that's why I recommend a GI specialist, GP will probably just try different things before giving you an ultrasound which can diagnose whatever it is.
