There was a thread a while back, about tattoos and what people assume. Some people assumed that if it was on the neck or face that the person was a con or ex con. Some people assumed they didn't give any thought to their future or stuff like that. I think I was a little surprised for some reason about how much people assume based on this little stuff. I have a tattoo around my neck and one small one on my face, and other larger ones in different places... I am not a con or ex con, I think about my future. I don't party, drink do drugs, am not violent, just trying to think of popular assumptions on that one. I am just a single mom, trying my best to raise three kids, trying to deal with mental illness, I go to yoga everyday, I eat healthy, take responsibility for my issues, and work to change myself and grow to the best of my ability. I am calm, peaceful, and aware of myself.

Trying to navigate through stereotypes.. A forever process, I was homeless for my whole youth.. stereotype, bipolar.. stereotype... abused...stereotype... I look rather young for having three children... stereotype...single mom ...stereotype... I could make a huge list. And we all could I know that.

We all are so unique and individual... it's amazing.. You are so correct about that.
Heck I've stopped assuming someone was old or young anymore. everyone looks at me like this : O.O when they hear I have 3 kids and one is 20. They're like "you look barely out of your twenties yourself!" LOL and I've met 30 year olds that look 50, and vice versa. I know people of all races that go against their stereotypes. yep.

I'm a professional web developer, even working for the federal government and I'm getting a big tattoo on my back in January that I designed! Yep, I'm not about to stereotype you or people with tattoos! I love em! (let me know if you want to see my tattoos design )
