When did the assault take place? and was it a stranger or someone you knew and trusted? I only ask because sometimes it can determine how to approach the healing process.

A random assault by a stranger is frightening, and brings about it's own demons. One by someone you knew, is not only frightening but breechs boundaries of trust, respect, security, etc...

Either way, it's not an overnight thing, and sometimes our minds in order to get us through the initial incident and time after have numbed us out of preservation...then bam, one day the full extent of what happened kind of explodes inside us.

It takes time to regain the feeling of being safe. Is this person being prosecuted for this crime? It's hard to give any concrete answer, well, cause you just really cannot, so many things play into it...but you can heal with time and help. hugs Lisa
