so basically they are sending your records to you BUT taking out the information that you need - birth mother, birth father. So in the end these records may do you no good for locating your biological parents?

Well all is not lost. Because you will have some of the info that you can use elsewhere to get the rest of the info.

For example there are many on line registration sites where adoptees and boilogical parents can register using information like where the adoption took place, the year it took place and so on, and then when the other person decides to register the agency automatically notified both matching people and sometimes helps the people do DNA testing to make sure the people are related.

You can always register and who knows maybe your biological parents have already registered and waiting to be matched.

Talk shows like maury, montel, Oprah and Ellen degeneres are always doing reunion shows of finding lost relatives. You can also do that.
