I'm working on an essay in English 102, on the novel, Follow the River by Thom. I'm having difficulties with my quotes, I need three mandatory. What I need to know is, can a quote be a part of the book, that was not spoken from a character, and when there is a spoken part from a character, is that a quote within a quote? If anybody knows, please give me an example of how it would be written.....thanks so much.
