I skip lunch everyday so I can pay for my health insurance (group plan offered thru the company).
And I have never had an hmo in my life. But it is what I can afford.
I think something is wrong when you have to choose between eating and taking a daily break and having health insurance.
Although I am very grateful I have it. I have never had to use it, though. I am a cash paying client (pdoc, md and T) because even though the new law protects people with pre-existing conditions, the premiums are outrageous for those not on a group plan.
The insurance companies are so greedy it is revolting. I think they must rank up there now with Wall Street and Bankers.
From what I understand, too, a couple of private ins companies are raising premiums up to 60%...
When is too much enough for these c level execs?! How many cars, houses, jars of caviar do they need?
