The best way I know how to give people space to breathe in a relationship is to keep yourself busy. It would be good to learn why you are getting obsessed with him and wanting to be with him 24/7, and probably the best way to understand that is to see a therapist. And to ask yourself some very difficult questions and be honest. Have you been like this with someone else?

But being busy can help. It builds confidence so you don't feel too needy on someone else, it makes your own life more interesting and rich, that you stop thinking about the other person quite as much, and you above all, you enjoy yourself for being you.

See friends, learn something new, challenge yourself. Go on holiday with friends, take up a hobby - anything that gives you something that is your own thing.
