Maybe some vitamin D would help also if you don't get a lot of sun where you live. Even for people without mental illness extra vitamin D in the winter can help.

It's easy to focus on the illness or problems, but I think the dx can just be a catalyst to shift our attention to making healthier lifestyle choices, healthier thinking patterns and behavior, healthier perspective on life, basically we can choose where we focus and focusing on what we can do or what maybe we have neglected can be a lot more benefit than focusing on on illness. They same the same thing with cancer and other illnesses as well. The more time you spend focusing on being sick the sicker you may become. If you focus on more on becoming healthier the same probably also applies.

After a new dx it's hard not to focus on it, but it's the perfect time to not create the habit of doing it. Habits are hard to break once we get into that routine. Plus working on your health and stuff like that is something you can both do together, it can help unify you both in this new challenge.
