At the bakery I work at, my boss is kinda a spaz, and last night I though she was going to have a nervous breakdown. I really didn't know what to do, except assure her that she could do it, and that things would be ok and she would get through this. Then I gave her a hug. I'm not used to people breaking down in front of me. It's usually me having the breakdown, and whatever people always say to me, doesn't really help. She kept saying she was sorry and that we shouldn't have to see a leader like this.

The reason she was so distraught was that the bread baker walked out and she doesn't know how to bake bread. There was a file on the computer where you enter how much bread you want to make and it calculates all the ingredients for the bread. When my husband turned on the computer the damn thing died. So my husband took out the hard drive and hooked it up to his computer, to copy off all the files. Then he put all the files on an old G4, to take over to the bakery. We took it over to the bakery, and when we looked for the file we couldn't find it, but we had to leave b/c we had to go to a Holiday party. After the party we had to run back over to my husband's other job to get the driver for the printer, then back to the bakery. By this time she was freaking out. So we searched for the bread file, and couldn't find it. I went out to smoke, and after 30 mins of searching my husband found it. When I went back in my boss was freaking out even more because when she entered in the amount of bread she wanted in the file, it came up with errors. I sat down and looked at it and saw that she was entering 3 kg, where you only needed to enter the 3, the form was programed to pop the kg in there after you entered the number. I'm glad I was there, b/c my husband would've never figured that out. So we printed it off and left it for her. The other baker showed up finally around 9, and then we left.

This morning our boss left a frantic message on my husband's phone about not being able to make the sourdough bread, and that he needed to call the restaurants that we supply it to, that they couldn't get it today. Seriously, she should be making the calls. I don't know why my husband has to do it. All he's supposed to do is the shopping, delivery, and working on the web site. She asks so much of us, and the bakery is literally taking over our lives. She keeps saying how much she appreciates us and that we're a blessing, but seriously, we don't get paid enough to do everything for her.
