My first time of dealing with anorexia, I was 42......went way underweight by lots & lots & my period NEVER stopped.

The second time I was medically hospitalized for anorexia I was 51......period stopped & I was not quite as low as the previous time....but then it never started again because of menopause.....& the hot flashes started.

I would personally go to the Dr in the first place. Don't ignore possibly serious things that you could in the long run be very sorry that you ignored. Best to take care of things even though they cost a bit than to be sorry in the long run. Dr's usually will negotiate for those people without insurance......& even if you can't pay anything they will work with you....or you can find a county facility that is willing to treat you without paying.....it's better than not doing anything about it at all & assuming it to be something it might NOT be.

My mom died from something she thought was a cyst & not the cancer that it really was.......when you start to play around with assumptions.
