So I was just thinking that AD works on Serotonin and Mood Stabilizers works on GABA but when we really break it down they are all neurotransmitters. They relay information to the brain. They tell you to be happier or to get really high or the lack of 'em tells you to lay in bed moping around all day. When you get depressed you loose your appetite or some people gain a huge one or when you are manic you gain or loose, I usually loose my appetite in mania and gain a huge one with depression. It is safe to say that when you introduce a SSRI or a mood stabilizer etc, that is will have the opposite effect and with time after the medicine stabilizes it should reduce and not be as big of a problem, but then again if it does, the Dr will just tell you to eat healthy and exercise...I don't think they realize you can't do what you brain isn't letting you do yet, but maybe someday they will get there. Those are my thoughts. I will try to research the answer for you if I remember tomorrow in my psychology books.
