good luck skittles,

I does take some time to realize if a T is really going to work out The fact that she is good at listening is a the best way to start. I have also found that it is important for them to be able to ask good questions that help bring out information too. I have only had one pshcyologist that was good at asking questions & that was the one that was on the medical hospital's staff when I was in there last year. I guess he was good at that because he was seeing patients like me only for the time we were in the hospital & had to be able to help as quickly as possible. I had just gone through a trauma, my Mother was dying & died of cancer, & I couldn't eat because of the horrible nausea that I get when I am stressed & I ended up anemic with mal nutrition. I was really out of it & he was seeing me daily. It was great having someone I could talk to about everything I had gone through. I became very dependent on him to help me through each day while I was planning my Mothers funeral & being haunted by the nightmares from the trauma I had gone through. I hated the fact that the pdoc was determined that it was anorexia, but the psychologist was willing to listen to the whole thing & not pigeon hole me into what the pdoc wanted.

I have realized that there needs to be a good connection & trust feeling in order to be able to open up to someone new. Knowing that they care & want to listen to what you have to say & not just what they want to hear is an important part of bonding with a new T.

Hopefully, you will be able to find a good relationship with her,
Debbie
