I'm guessing you work somewhere this magazine is sold.
It's standard practice in retail stores to tear off the front cover of magazines and paperbacks, which are returned to the publisher for credit. This rest of the product is legally required to be destroyed. Cheaper than sending it all back--printing is less expensive than shipping. One of life's many insanities--sorry.
Your local library could provide this issue for you, if Maven's info isn't sufficient.
