Does this mean I am barking up the wrong tree with the diagnosis? Does anyone have other examples of how this kind of thing can manifest itself? She was pretty much happy all the time, or would cover up her sadness, for sure, but never seemed to make up emotions to match specific situations. I definitely can't recall any fabricated negative emotions.
I'm just trying to make sense of what was definitely the most bizarre and twisted experience of my life, and want to get a better idea of whether or not I could really have been dealing with HPD or if it was something else.
Thanks!

Yes thats what I do, I relate with this, and happy all the time, I never fake things, thats more along the lines of another disorder, factitious disorder. There are couple of ways this can manifest, HPD can overlap with ASPD and BPD behaviors, she sounds like she might fall under the ASPD features, as I do. With lack of empathy and happy all the time, its not really happiness though, its a numbing effect, but other cant tell. I despise feeling sad or unhappy so I just dont feel that way, or cant stand when others do as well it bugs me! Look into HPD with ASPD features and see what you think, thanks for the story!
