Sometimes I go back and describe my experience with the particular interaction. It gets us talking. Some times I see a distortion in my thoughts and so learn about myself. Sometimes she acknowledges how her behavior/reaction made me feel and leaves it at that. But with a feeling of being together or understanding it together. She has apologized at times too.
