The temperature here is close to -40˚C (or for those in the U.S. -40˚F I think?)
. The daily high today is -20˚C (-4˚F). The national environmental agency says that in these temperatures skin can freeze in 10 to 30 minutes
.
I walked outside today to check on my spiders in their shed and I thought, "Wow, it's chilly outside today!"
. At least my tire isn't frozen to my car again!
Notwithstanding the temperatures I will be the lonely dude walking down the street with a homemade milkshake from my favourite coffee house!
. As far as I am concerned it's as good a time as any to enjoy chocolatey ice cream outside!
When I was talking to my mother about the new tarantula I am ordering (a
Theraphosa blondi
), we were talking about how to transport it in the winter, and I am like, "You'll have to hide her in your jacket!" Of course she doesn't mind, because she wants it more than I do
.
Just thought I'd share some of my winter stories again! Now excuse me while I go kick my evidently not working furnace…
