I would not take an anti-anxiety med because I do not believe in them, because I have found them to be only partially effective at best, and very finicky. One day they work, another day they don't, and you never know why. Especially if you have never had them, and do not know how you would react to them, there is absolutely no guarantee that they woud work. That said, there is no harm in trying, but do make sure to avoid alcohol on the day of the biopsy if you try them - the interactions between alcohol and anti-anxiety meds are really bad.
