I went to a new therapist Thursday and she told me that with drugs like Effexor, the therapeutic benefit often gets spread out over 6 months, so the progress you feel often happens in the 4-8 week period, and then continues to spread at a much slower rate over 6 months. Of course, this may be much too long for many of us to wait and see, given that some of our symptoms are quite serious, but I thought I'd give you all a bit of an update.

I remember that when I first started taking Cipralex, I felt increasingly better over a 6 month period, until I was completely in remission, which was amazing! It seems Effexor might work in a similar fashion for some people.

I'm sticking with it for the time being, though I may up my dosage to the regular starting dosage, which is apparently 225mg.
