Senator Daniel Inouye of Hawaii died today -- and the news media (in particular CBS national news) still could not pronounce his name correctly. The accent is on the second syllable, not the first: something like in-O-yay. I have heard his name mispronounced a number of times even by the Senate staff when calling roll.
