I agree with both posts here. The idea that all of theme "your age" are like those that are partying and doing irresponsible and silly immature stuff is not completely true. For one, the wild ones are more noticeable so it makes the more mature, quiet ones kind of fade into the background. So look harder, first of all, not to the typical 20-ish person, but those that aren't hanging with the crowd. Go places that they would hang out. Go to cafes, book stores and the like. They are out there. And don't limit yourself to your age group either. You sound very mature, and perhaps someone not necessarily in your peer group would be better. Dont' get me wrong, I'm not saying look for a 40 something to hang out with or anything but a little older?

And all that, in addition to what scotty and riotgrrrl said. Groups, clubs, churches and even some interest-focused forums online could help you find people of all ages, closer to your interests and maturity level.
