Hi Rainbow, substance abuse, eating disorders, self-injury, etc., are all addictions. People have addictions because they improve their moods temporarily. It helps to alleviate their pain for a little bit. If you want to stop these addictions, you will need to work on what is causing your pain. Are you doing this with your therapist?
