I am from eastern bloc... so 1990s were all new, raw, OMG, no way for me. I believe part of my messed up ness comes from growing up in democratic transition (democratic transition, if it doesn't turn outright messy is like party with cheap booze and music from bad bootlegged mixtapes. And weird food that your friends brought over and claim it's some exotic cuisine, but it likely is just some dollar store junk).

but gah, I wanna some downtime from history. I cannot just "Not watch the news". Too addictive. I am too damn political to pretend it ain't happening. But gah, I don't understand the world sometimes. It's embarassing when people ask me to explain some economic issue or war and I am all "yes, it really doesn't make sense"
