Hello, Rhode Island Red! Though I am not a compulsive spender, financial dealings frequently trigger me. I handle them as little as possible. Also, your not reading the second paragraph of your sister's email makes perfect sense to me. I'd probably print it out and give it to a trusted other to review and summarize for me.
Is it possible you could ask your therapist about getting professional financial advice for yourself? I believe some folks in the money world have experience with protecting the interests of people with mental illnesses.
