MAYBE! Maybe I should take 1mg and then my other stuff in the mornings and be hyper all day!

I don't see you as complaining
Chris, I’m thinking it’s the anxiety and the worry itself that’s causing the insomnia, because if you just began taking Risperdal only a few days ago it may not have had enough time to react in your system and cause trouble with sleeping. And there may be some other psychological stress that could be a culprit. What are you doing before bedtime? Are attempting to relax naturally? Are you consuming caffeinated beverages or other stimulants before bedtime? Are there other drugs, vitamins or herbs involved? Are you listening to upbeat music, reading or watching programs on television that may be too intense? I feel that even if it is the recent meds you may be having other side effects along with the restlessness. And you really should not ever alter your prescribing physician’s recommendation for dosage (alter your meds only as you have discussed this with him/her for approval). Another idea is to call the local RX and speak with a pharmacist. Now if you begin to notice other side effects such as nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headaches, lightheadedness, dizziness, clumsiness and such, please call 911 and your primary care doctor right away, and do this now, even if it’s the holiday, if you feel nervous and uncertain about how you feel now. Rather than fretting, give your doctor a call when you need to. Best to you!
