I don't know why your pdoc wants you to take that dose, you need to talk to him and/or a pharmacist.
My pdoc prescribes mirtazapine for me and told me I could take 7.5 or 15 mg but said the lower dose seems to work better and that is what I take but I still have to have other meds for sleep.
