I sort of doubt that she cuts to keep him on purpose, it seems more likely that she would cut to comfort herself and feel release from the fear that she has of him leaving.

That's just my thoughts on the matter, I could be wrong.

I have known a few cutters who cut for attention, but very few, and most of them got to where they were addicted and couldn't quit... i.e. they no longer did it for attention but they felt as if they couldn't live without it.

I'd be interested to know her feelings on the matter, if she thinks she cuts for attention.
