DrSkipper, 2.5 mg is the smallest dose Zyprexa comes in. So you are already at the lightest level possible, and it should be no trouble to switch to the PRN basis from here. I occasionally take Zyprexa as a sleep medicine. Very occasionally. I am now hoping that it will help me sleep during a long flight - it is a good sleep medicine, after all.

I think PRN is the way to go with Zyprexa, because as a maintenance treatment it causes too much weight gain - the most of all AP's. Plus, as BipolaRNurse indicated, it can really mess up your blood sugar. As an occasional PRN drug, it does nothing bad to my blood sugar which is borderline low. I take as much as 10 mg - just infrequently.

Congratulations! It is a good step forward.
