I didn't know that Facebook could do that..that goes way too far in my view. You should be allowed to contact as many people as they want. Those people who don't want to be contacted have their privacy settings set up which won't allow you to contact them anyhow. So I don't see why Facebook needs to intervene with that. I'm so glad I shut down my page. You can change your name as far as I know. Its under account settings and then Name.
