Klonopin, or benzodiazepenes in general, don't work all that well as sedatives. They do have light sedative effects, but usually not nearly enough to knock people out and keep them asleep, especially at that dose.

If you want an easily accessible sedative, go out and get some diphenhydramine (aka Benadryl). 2 or 3 of those (50-75mg) will knock someone out nicely and keep you asleep for a good chunk of time.
