It can be difficult and trust me I know because I've been on a little bit of both sides before. I was in a 'relationship' where the best name for me would be the 3rd wheel. It was okay in the beginning and eventually trust issues took over the entire situation. On my part a little, mainly her part and her boyfriend just was unsure if that situation was really one I wanted to be in.
Now for me being a bisexual female in my own committed relationship, I've talked to him about it and he knows I'm attracted to women...sometimes encourages me to find someone. From time to time I have urges and I mean STRONG urges but I refuse to give in and find the real thing. Porn is just fine. Simply because I don't want to tarnish or complicate our relationship and bring in someone who may develop serious feelings towards me or even both of us...because I've been there before.
It is VERY tricky but as long as you have an understanding and the freedom to express yourself whether it's going to the strip club together from time to time, setting up a one night stand (obviously whatever is agreeable with your own comfort level) that understanding between you and your current partner is essential.
