The jeopardizing & pissing off is in the past. Now is now.go to AA--what's to lose but an hour, eh?--& see what you want to do with your present and future.
I totally ruined the first 35-yrs of my life & tossed the ashes of two careers out in the trash. Then a true friend dragged my @ss to AA, eventually I sobered up in a rehab unit, went with intent to AA, got a superior AA sponsor who chewed what remained of my @ss for a couple years till I got my program working.
Now, at 66, I've had a couple more careers--successful & sober--and I haven't ruined this half of my life.
Of course, you're not me. You're younger starting out! Even better.
