[quote=sac85;2798921]I have not been officially diagnosed with depression but it is very obvious that is what is going on.. however I am wanting to know if depression can take the form of anger? I throw things, break things and do a lot of screaming and yelling. I feel horrible afterwards and hate myself for it. Can depression do this? It has progressively gotten worse over the past 2 years.[/quote

Yes, depression can cause what you are decsribing. althoug depression is typically anger turned inwards, that doesn't mean that you can't have more than one thing going on at once.

My own brother was very much like you. Every night there was yelling, screaming and banging on the wall. (His bedroom was next to mine.). At the time, he terrified me, but now that I've been out of the house for years, I feel nothing but sorrow for him.

If your depression is heading you down the road of violence, its imperative that you find a therapist before your anger finds its way to other people. Violent outbursts can occur with depression, OCD, schizophrenia and a host of other thing. Only a professional can tell you for sure

I can't imagine that you are happy living that way. Anger management problems can be worked on, giving you other options and safer ways of dissipating your anger. Medications, psychotherapy and possibly medical tests to rule out a biological cause for your behavior. We all lose it at one point or another, but if you feel out of control, let a professonal help.
