I need advice regarding what I believe to be workplace bullying. Here is my story. I really need advice. Thankyou!...........................................................................................
...........................................................................................................................
I checked my emails yesterday and the manager wrote up an incident report on the resident on the stairs. I read it and was incredibly shocked. She has made me out to be a person who abused this woman. This resident did not ask for help. I thought you cannot do things for them. They must do things for themselves. She claims I failed to carry out instructions and caused distress for other residents by putting wrong furniture into their rooms. She wants me to sign it. But I don't agree with it.

The Manager is on holiday for the next two weeks and I am feeling incredibly stressed. I am on six months probation and strongly feel I will not get this job. I don't know why I am being blamed for things that I have no control over. I have defended myself but I get ignored. I getjudged all the time. I am feeling incredibly depressed about this.

Please can someone advise me please? I haven't signed the report. Is this bullying? Being blamed for things. It feels like she is urging to get rid of me in case I may get her into trouble. What with this young man fainting?

Please help!!!!
If this a way to save money by the management is to get rid of workers on probation, then
this is an example of institutional bullying.

If this is a personal issue that the manager has with you, then it is workplace bullying.

This workplace is not a good place for you to work. Paperwork regarding the incidents mentioned would be needed to firmly protect your position. Unfortunately, the manager appears to be doing all the paperwork that is one sided and against you. There appears no balanced view of looking at all the facts. I doubt that would be done.

I know an union would try to help protect the workers from this type of harrassment/intimidation tactics, but I am sure there is no union at your workplace. At least(with a union), all workers would be aware of management behaviors regarding the workplace. And if anyone else besides management expresses bullying behaviors, then we know your workplace is a toxic workplace. If management can only be pressurized by budget concerns by treating their workers like the way you were treated, then perhaps they should pay for mental health treatment.

Even in the public sector, there are toxic environments where the bully is promoted to another position. And nothing is corrected very quickly like the bullying treatment dished out by the bullies onto the workers, but done very slowly so perhaps people will forget about the workers who develop mental health issues because of the bullying toxic environment.

So, on the next job you get an interview you can explain toxic workplace environments to whoever interviews you and get an understanding of how the workers are treated by management.

Right now, I can not see how you can make through the probation period without all the bullying stuff from management.

If you have to sign anything, to each point that needs your input you need to explain all the facts. There has to be two copies with a note beside where you have to sign your name that indicates your side of these stories is on the attached page. This way you have a copy and they can not deny you did not explain anything.

And don't mention lawyer if asked, just say an advisor. If they verbally ask you stuff in person do not answer them but say you have to write everything down. You need paper and pencil to write down what is said so both parties can agree what was discussed.

Again, do not answer them if they ask if you have a lawyer. Let their imagination work for you. Other new applicants should be aware of these types of behaviors, too. I don't know what agency would be able help with that.

But I agree that you can't work at a place like this. It is not good for your mental health.
Hope you have a good new year's. Take care.
