There has been so much talk recently about the need for more and better access to mental health treatment. But how many people who know they need help avoid treatment because they are afraid of being stigmatized.

And yes there are privacy laws but they only go so far. I can tell you in a divorce when a child is involved there is no such thing as privacy rights. All my medical/treatment records are now fair game to be used against me. And worst of all it seems likely that my soon to be ex will be able to either directly or indirectly be able to go through them all then later exaggerate things to everyone she (we) know in order to trash me even more.
