So sorry you injured your foot. And torn ligaments do take a long time to heal. When I tore the ligaments in my ankle about 10 years ago now, an air cast wasn't an option. instead I was on crutches for 8 weeks. My Dr. actually told me I'd have been better off if I'd actually broken the ankle.
You'll have to be extra careful with that foot too, going forward, because once ligaments have been torn, they'll always be weak.
