What helped me was writing in the books themselves (however, I wouldn't suggest this if you have to return the book at the end of the year/semester).

Otherwise, the binder/tabs idea above is good. There are also multiple subject notebooks that have pockets in them where you can keep extra papers.

And if you're having trouble with taking notes, schools can provide people to help you with that. At least they do in colleges, but I would assume high schools as well (not sure your age).
