I really wonder about this, as I have a daughter who needs space if I get a place, and I really cannot afford to move out of my mother's house right now and I really want to. Though I do fear being too alone as I don't have a broad social network.

2 bedroom apartments or even 1 with den apartments are a minimum of $800/mo., plus utilities. That is 50% of my take home (just about) at my current job, and will all my debts is simply unaffordable. I can barely afford the $500 I pay a month to live with my mother, but she's more flexible than a landlord would be.

I just don't know how people afford to live out in the world, working a regular paying 9 to 5 job. This is why I'm so career focused, I just want to be able to afford to live a descent life.

I need advice, renting a room doesn't allow for me to ever see my daughter. So I need to figure out affordable housing somehow. Any advice?
