Until recently I have never had a solid nights sleep.
Im usually the last one asleep and the first one awake. I have this internal clock set for dawn.

When I was 3 I was the first person up every morning.
By the time I was 10 I had been drug back and forth to the doctor over and over.
By 13 I was on sleeping pills, my mom took me to court and had them court ordered to MAKE me sleep. She was fed up with my 1 to 4 a.m. wanderings. I took them for about 6 months and then started throwing them away again. thats not sleeping, thats being knocked out.
I had nightmares every night until I was about 20. But anyone living my life would have too.
I still remember the first morning I woke up and cried because it was the first night of my life I had dreamed something other than nightmares full of murderers and people chasing me.
Im 32 years old now and Ive finally found myself beginning to sleep through the night almost every night. yes, sometimes that night is from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. but I look on this as solid progress, with no medication.
I think Im finally at peace with myself.
