I have the few usual things, pens, calculator and a notebook or two. I usually bring a book to read on breaks and my tablet for browsing the web.
I usually only bring my laptop when I want to type up an assignment while in college, if that's the case I bring my laptop instead of my tablet. I usually bring my tablet though coz I prefer to do assignments at home because my laptop is kind of annoying to bring places.
That's all I bring, a pretty light load.
What does everyone else bring?

here in New York each college instructor writes up a course syllabus that has on it the required supplies and books we will need for the class and an outline of what will be covered during the whole semester including breaking down the course load into what chapters, assignments , papers quizzes and exams that will be done through out the semester.
the week before the class starts I go to the college book store and tell them what courses I am taking. they walk me through the store helping me get the basic standard stuff like that courses text book work book.
then I go to the first class with the books and a pencil, pen and spiral bound notebook, the instructor hands out the course syllabus and I make a trip to the college book store and complete my shopping by purchasing what ever the class requires.
from then on I take to class what ever is required on the course syllabus along with my mini tape recorder to audio record the class time so I dont have to worry too much about note taking. I can pay full attention to the discussion and information rather then wondering if I was writing everything down the way it was presented.
