I'm in college, and I live on campus in an apartment, so I only take what I need for the classes(es) I'm going to at that particular time.

I always have:

• School ID and room key (both are kept on a wristlet that also contains my debit card, health insurance card etc.)
• Chapstick
• Notebook
• Pen(s)
• Highliter(s)
• Pencil
• Glasses
• Water bottle

Depending on the class I might also bring:

• Laptop (some classes move too quickly for me to write my notes since I write really slowly)
• Coffee
• Snack
• Textbook

And I usually also have:

• Hand sanitizer (thanks, OCD)
• Lotion
• Ibuprofen/acetaminophen
• Tissues
• Inhaler
• Pads/tampons

I think that just about covers it
