I think you probably could trust a therapist. If you have a kind one then you can ask them only to confer what you're comfortable with to your parents, or something... Therapists are there to help, after all. Not hurt you. Except for a few that I have had the pleasure of never meeting. As for if you need help, you need to ask yourself that... or at least give some examples. Hope I helped at least a little... I have anxiety issues so it's hard to trust people for me too, but I think therapists can be trusted.
