Do you think your therapist would be of more help if you let her in on some of the things you are telling us? Therapy is not like medicine where you can take an x-ray or run a blood test. The therapist can't help you if you don't tell her what is going on.

Use the scars to remind yourself that you don't want to cut. You may always have them and may have to come up with some imaginative explainations, but ultimtely, they won't ruin your life. When you do get into a relationship, if the person really cares about you, they aren't going to care about some scars. There are plenty of people out there with severe burn scars or other visible abnormalities. That doesn't mean they spend their lives alone.

If opening all those doors at once to your therapist is too much, pick something that is really concerning you and touch on that. Make a list of things you think you would like to change, and prioritize them. You can do this.
