what kind of person thinks it is okay to remove a dog from a well ventilated vehicle parked in the shade? the dog had water, as is usual when the dog stays in the vehicle.

to come out from appts today to find an empty vehicle and ask the nearest business if they saw anything and their response was someone opened up the door (reached in windows that were open enough for an arm to fit through) and took the dog out.

WHAT?!!

who on earth thinks that taking someone else's animal is okay?!!!!!

the better part of the next hour was spent running around this foreign neighbourhood in a large metro city. thank goodness people were observant and many did see our dog either alone or with a white haired woman who was walking her by the collar.

after many tears, much fear, the amazing kindness of strangers with cellphones who generously offered up their phones for calling tag numbers to see if anyone had left messages yet, we finally came across two waitresses at a corner cafe who saw the bldg our dog was taken into across the street.

we ran into that office crying about our stolen/missing dog and they produced our dog from the back room. rescuers. true rescuers these women. they had their dogs at the office so our dog made for a total of three dogs in the office. water bowls and biscuits were plentiful. the love was abundant. our relief was huge as we melted into a pile of tears on the floor with our dog.

a most joyous reunion took place. these ladies were angels on earth for rescuing our dog from one of the busiest roads in that city on a Friday afternoon. one was walking back from a bank deposit a few blocks away and saw our dog in the street running with that lost dog look. thank goodness this woman got involved!

have been trying to test levels personal levels of our anxiety without dog assistance lately by not using dog all times in all places. that's gonna change from now on. no more solo dog in car. not after the heart dropping into the stomach feeling of today.

frantic and helpless is how it felt to not know where to look, or even how to get in touch with anyone who may have found her....and too heartbreaking to even think what if the woman who originally took her out of the car decided to keep her. can't even imagine that. but had to today in moments of panic. twas awful. awful indeed.

who does that?

who?

a friend suggested that perhaps a misguided individual let the dog out thinking they were doing a good thing by getting a dog out of a parked vehicle. that might make sense with inadequate ventilation or shade or lack of water but none of those things were in effect today.

what goes through the minds of these ppl? or is that assuming too much by thinking these ppl have minds??

so tired yet wide awake still frightened by the almosts, the what ifs, and the holy schmoleys of today's events.

both __zh and dog are home safely and okay after a very long and scary day.

edit to remove personal info mistakenly included....late, tired and not as aware as should be and need be
